Virgin Islands Department of Labor St. Thomas Office Temporarily Closes Due to Fuel Shortage

USVI — The Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) announces the temporary suspension of services at its St. Thomas office, effective today at 4:00 PM, due to an unexpected fuel shortage affecting the office’s generator. This shortage has resulted from a delay in fuel delivery.

The generator is essential for maintaining operations during periods when direct power from the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) is unavailable. Without a consistent power supply, we are unable to continue normal operations at the St. Thomas office. The office will remain closed until the fuel supply is replenished or until a stable power supply from WAPA is restored.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause to our clients and sincerely apologize for the disruption. During this time, we encourage residents to utilize our St. Croix office by calling 340-773-1994 or accessing our online services through the VIDOL website at www.vidol.gov.

VIDOL is actively working to resolve this issue and will provide timely updates as the situation evolves. We will notify the public immediately once the St. Thomas office is able to resume full services.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to restore normal operations.
